On way out for a night in Shinjuku with Teru and friends, I managed to get completely lost. I'd caught a train one stop, and managed to walk all the way back to the original station.However, I was rewarded well for my mishap. I came across a beautiful and now extremely rare creature, as the fad is now some five years old - a ganguro gaaru, or black-face girl. See the picture, it needs little explanation. I was SO thrilled when she let me have a picture. Her two friends have constructed the far-fetched super-Beyonce hairstyles that the really high maintenance girls are now sporting.
