Kyoto day 3 - an unanticipated festival - April 8

I accidentally happened across this ecstatic public dancing on the way home from a day looking around in Kyoto. My attention was originally caught by a bit of public "Greased Lightning" around the corner, but this by far outclassed it in scale and enthusiasm. It was a huge square, FULL of teenagers dancing extremely energetic group dances. The previous dance incorporated 4 sequential Japanese waves in each chorus, far superior to Mexican ones. The entire crowd squatted, and then a rolling wave of jumping while spinning and shouting rushes through the crowd. 8oO
